Ball courts

AG5, together with Anders Christensen Consulting Engineers, were commissioned  to design and execute two new multi-functional ball courts for the Psychiatric Center Nordsjælland's divisions in Hillerød and Helsingør.

Architecturally, the courts are of unique design. It is not an off the shelf solution, but specially designed with a focus on construction, sculptural integrity and quality materials. The goal was to express to patients and everyone else who comes in connection with the courts that there is respect for the place and its mission.

The courts are only two among several other initiatives that PCN does to improve conditions and thus the well-being of the patients. The positive results have already been rewarded in the form of less coercion and retention (fixation) of residents.

AG5 has been responsible for the design project, tender and construction management.
