Smakkedalen 6 - Ultrabulk
AG5 were architects and main consultant for Danica Properties as well as workplace designers for Ultrabulk, an international shipping company. AG5's role included converting their workplace requirements into a modern well-functioning shipping office. The workplace provides an environment rich in natural light and boasts quality materials and workmanship. In addition to the office facilities, Ultrabulk's new headquarters offers employees recreational facilities such as a fully tooled bicycle workshop for their many employees whom cycle to work.
The building has a high degree of transparency with focus on workplace communication organised around the open central staircase. The design concept refers both directly and indirectly to the company's maritime activities on the world's oceans.
The building was originally constructed in 1999 and is owned by Danica Properties. It is one of 3 office buildings forming an exclusive business complex adjacent to Gentofte train station. Ultrabulk’s new Copenhagen offices now house 60 workplaces, canteen and meeting facilities as well as the supporting areas.
