2 Houses in Dronningmølle
The 2 houses are located on top of dune bluffs facing the Kattegat Sea from where there are spectacular views towards Kullen and the North Zealand coastline. In contrast to the expansive views of the water, intimate terraces and garden spaces have been created on the land side of the houses.
Like a "sister and brother" the houses are different but share common elements, materials and forms. Together they form a small compound of 480 m2 of building on 2300 m2 land between Strandvejen and the coast.
The houses draw inspiration from the Cape Cod style stemming from the northeast U.S., with shingles, white double hung windows, slate roofs and covered porches. Acacia shingles turn to light gray over time, and harmonize with the natural landscape.
